In the? late 19th century, there are reports that they used to be all the way up to the Lake/Volusia line, but several freezes in the late 19th century and development pushed them back to South Florida. I took your advice and placed it on my backpack to ward? of bears, boars, and even the occasional mischievous forest spirit!
