On the bandstand in Woking, July 2011, featuring Abi. With thanks to Deborah Carter for the vid. and of course to the late, great Etta James.
Lovely afternoon with appreciative locals. If you'd like us to play a two hour set of soul classics contact Peter. Details via the website 'Soul-Rites.Com', where you will find a play list.
Abi's first ever public performance...
And a big thankyou to those who came along and demanded four encore numbers before letting us off stage. For upcoming events see Soul-Rites.com

Our thanks go to the couple who kicked off the dancing. After that folks headed for the dance floor in a flood. There's a bit of blurring in a couple of places, so sorry about that. Venue: Malden Wanderers Cricket Pavillion, New Malden. You are welcome to our gigs and we can of course be hired! See website for details Soul-Rites.com

We'll be back there ... By: SteffanLlwyd. on 19 Apr 11, 18:37:49 We'll be back there but not for a while. When we are, its a case of off the A3 for New Malden... straight down the hight street, under the railway bridge and first right after the petrol station on the right. As they say 'see website for details of upcoming gigs'!? Make yourself known to me (by far the smaller of the two guitarists) and I'll buy you a beer!

I hope you have lots of gigs comming...
There was supposed to be a 'Dibbs' too to keep him company; but somehow he is enough. He really fancies a little King Charles' called 'Boo' who lives a few doors down the street. Here he is chilling-out to Pink Floyd, and feeling a bit hungry.
He looks so ... By: DirkjeA. on 11 Apr 11, 21:58:01 He looks so adorable and also a little naughty. I can imagine him exercising with? his ball. And I can also imagine what he looks like when he is thinking about the meaning of life.....lol
Yes. He's really ... By: SteffanLlwyd. on 20 Jul 10, 21:14:21 Yes. He's really something. Sometimes he's struck by a thought. Pauses. Runs upstairs. Finds the ball he was thinking about. Brings it to the top of the stairs. Drops it through the banister. Comes down to bite? it before its come to a stand and then comes back to my feet, well pleased with himself. Other times he looks me in the eye trying to figure out why he's living with a beast that is not a dog (I think)....
That? should read ... By: SteffanLlwyd. on 25 Sep 11, 06:06:00 That? should read Hersham Sports and Social Club: November 5th. Non club members welcome too!
I'm only just ... By: SteffanLlwyd. on 24 Aug 11, 14:24:27 I'm only just getting past the 'terrified' stage to the 'enjoying it as I play' stage. The Blues idea og playing minor scales over? major chords is kind of a simple act of genius. Somewhere a long time ago, someone must have stumbled on it and thought OMG in whatever his language was!
Very inspired solo. ... By: VulturesAwait. on 23 Aug 11, 00:14:16 Very inspired solo...sounds like it was fun!? short but sweet clip
The April 2nd gig ... By: SteffanLlwyd. on 12 Apr 11, 18:14:06 The April 2nd gig was great because the crowd rushed the dance floor all at once and then went nuts, singing along with Minnie The Moocher (hi-di hidi hidi hi/ ho-di hodi hodi ho), Land of a Thousand Dances (na nana na nana na nanna na nanna na) and Mony? Mony (oh I love you mo mo mo mo Mony....) My daughter took a couple of vids and I hope to post these soon. As well as Woking on the 9th July, we have Lightwater Working Men's Club on Sept 3rd and Hersham Comrades Club on October 1....

The red Strat at ... By: SteffanLlwyd. on 31 Oct 10, 10:01:35 The red Strat at which I'm trying to improve. We met via a 'blues-to-jazz' class building chords on different instruments, say have a guitar play thirds and sevenths, another guitar play different intervals, eg bass on root and fifths and one of the horn section playing the melody line another maybe thirds, sixths and sevenths etc. in written arrangements. When we get it right, it is great. Like sheep shearing it is not as difficult as it? looks: it is MORE difficult!

I said to me the solo (and ofcourse the short rest of the vid) got 5***** indeed, for I realy liked to listen and watch it.
Well, I never ... By: DirkjeA. on 18 Jul 10, 16:17:06 Well, I never realised you were with 10 musicians, than my admiration is even bigger, for that cannot be easy, even? though Tony gets you out of trouble now and than...lol. But I hope to see/hear more of this soon.
greetz from Holland.
Wow! 5***** I do ... By: SteffanLlwyd. on 17 Jul 10, 20:44:01 Wow! 5***** I do an OK solo on Summertime which mostly just follows the melody tine. But I'm rubbish with 'Sweethome Chicago' and 'She Caught the Katy'. Tony the other guitarist does a great one on SC, which gets me out of trouble! The band is really coming together now, which? is quite tricky with ten of us.
