Sorry it took so long to get this uploaded guys, as you can see on the blog I had some computer troubles and some issues with the city and my conversion. Those have been surmounted and should be getting back on track.
New springs are ... By: rillip3. on 28 Sep 10, 12:33:00 New springs are unnecessary for this kind of weight. And if I have to change them in four months, they were still free for those four months. :p?
not when you have ... By: DanFrederiksen. on 24 Sep 10, 21:10:38 not when you have to make changes to get them to fit and get new springs for the suspension to? carry the added weight. and when you have to buy new ones because they lasted 4 months
what you say is ... By: rillip3. on 24 Sep 10, 21:03:43 what you say is true, but these batteries were free,? which is much cheaper than $3,500 :)
the Geo Storm seems ... By: DanFrederiksen. on 24 Sep 10, 20:12:55 the Geo Storm seems like a decent donor car, reasonably light and seems fairly aerodynamic which is very important for high speed mileage.
if at all possible you really shouldn't use lead batteries though. lithium is cheaper anyway, really. because you drag a lot less and they live a lot longer. maybe 3500$? for a 96V 90Ah thundersky pack and that will give you maybe 120km (75mile) range. and it'll only weigh like 90kg instead of 500.
noone should ever use lead. lead is dead
your right? about ... By: jsnyderl. on 08 May 12, 03:01:09 your right? about the throttle and the clutch
Get someone to ... By: evric2008. on 13 Oct 09, 05:43:15 Get someone to press the gas pedal and you will see the throttle linkage? move. Disconnect all the mechanical bits for the throttle from the top of the engine and keep them, even the bit that the cable connects to. They will be useful when connecting the throttle to the "PotbBox". The wires going to the windscreen wiper are just going into the engine bay wiring - leave this. Just disconnect all wires actually connecting to the engine and gearbox assembly so this can be removed.
All the best.
um on a geo storm ... By: Harrysativa. on 13 Feb 11, 06:45:28 um on a geo storm if you put a hose in the return gas line in the engine? bay and put the end in a gas can and with the end at gound level it will drain it's self about 15 min per 1 ot 2 gallon i think
You learn something ... By: rillip3. on 15 Jul 09, 12:34:30 You learn something new every? day. :) I might actually keep that then, could be fun to play with.
Thanks Ric! ... By: rillip3. on 15 Jul 09, 12:33:42 Thanks Ric! Luckily, still something I? have to disconnect. :)
The? cable you show ... By: evric2008. on 15 Jul 09, 07:34:34 The? cable you show looks like the clutch cable. It connects to the clutch lever.
The fuel sender is? ... By: evric2008. on 15 Jul 09, 07:01:54 The fuel sender is? the rheostat (variable resistor) which controls the gas gauge on the dash.
what you did too ... By: Harrysativa. on 13 Feb 11, 06:39:45 what you did too the wipe's if pop the ball socket joint should just clip back on. the bend in the wiper arm is? so it cleans the window better..
Just get 2 new ... By: evric2008. on 01 Jul 09, 14:18:50 Just get 2 new wiper? arms and forget about cleaning off the rust...

Yup, still sitting ... By: rillip3. on 02 Jan 10, 21:01:13 Yup, still sitting in the car sadly. ? I've got one more alternator mount to remove, and then I think I'm ready to hoist it out.
Do you still? have ... By: JayCrims0n. on 01 Jan 10, 21:14:55 Do you still? have the Engine from this car?
looks like a fun conversion though
All good thoughts ... By: rillip3. on 21 Jun 09, 04:28:02 All good thoughts Ric! I'll? try and keep that in mind next time.
A couple of points. ... By: evric2008. on 14 Jun 09, 23:00:27 A couple of points...
1. Remove the wipers from the car to remove the rust. (too late now!)
2. Don't pour the rust remover on - use a brush - you won't waste as much. $8 a bottle!
3. Try not to get the rust remover on the paint work. They usually attack the paint.
4. That panel? under the windshield that is rusting is probably removable (I think I saw a screw there) This will make it much easier to fix it. Doing repairs with things in situe will damage the body unnecessarily.
Ric.

For the dash, check ... By: evric2008. on 14 Jun 09, 23:08:56 For the dash, check on the net for something called 'bed liner'? used on trucks and pickups. It has been used successfully to repair dashboards. You firstly fix all the cracks then coat (spray?) with bedliner. It's best to take the dash out to do this! Ric
Ya las vegas has ... By: thamoja. on 17 Jan 10, 04:00:28 Ya las vegas has the same thing about non-running cars so we had to hide my new yorker cuz it kinda runs but it sat in the same spot for over to years so when we had move it that was a lot of? work
