Well John, I was about 6 or 7 when I saw this. Actually those characters you mentioned are Western-style catgirls which typically lean more toward the furry end of the spectrum. Granted yes a lot of them are really cute but in the whole scope of the genre, I really prefer the Japanese-style catgirl, called a neko. Their simpler anthropomorphic traits with just the? ears and a tail make them cuter to me and better exhibit their moé qualities I like in anime.
