I sid I know what they do and I have worked with 5 in the past. All psychologists seem to have some kind of insecurity about medicine for one reason or another... and is dismay the word you really mean? Medicine actually makes distressed. Medicine isn't as corrupted as you think and there are a good many laws restricitng "nasty big pharma" on what they can do and how they interact? with doctors. You also seem to have an awfully influenced opinion about it for someone training in psychology.

You can't have a personal belief in what a doctor is. A doctor is a definite thing with definite definitions, not subjective ones. Are you serious in sying that you believe that anyone ho? treats anyone is a doctor? The word medical doctor is there for emergency situations such as on a plane when they ask is a doctor on board? I don't want and archaeologist treating my cardiac arrest. In hospital the term medical before doctor is redundant because everyone knows it you retard.

Of course people go into medicine for money and prestige. None of us will admit it though because then we lose the pillar we place ourselves? on. However, as already stated, if money and prestige are the primary reasons for becoming a doctor then you're going to hate your job very quickly. If you enjoy working in teams, problem solving and most importantly helping people through some of the worst parts of their lives... then you might just make a career out of it.

@banhgialon It? is prestigious and you do make good money but thebfact that you spend more 10 times studying and working then anything else should be more then enough to show you it isn't about money. People become doctors because they love science and want to use it to help people, not money. Anybody with a brain knows that.
