"how do You[sic] get physicist[sic] to take out time to answer semi-serious questions anyway ?[sic]" They must be less pretentious than you.?
By: Rodrigo Sierpe. on 25 May 12, 00:08:49
because those "semi serious" questions that you disregard so quickly are what makes science appealing to Average Joe, you got to find some entry point to introduce? science to regular folks like you and I. Remember that not everyone is Jonas Salk or Neil Tyson. They need to get to know science in a friendly way so you can at some point introduce the heavier, more serious concepts.

i would have thought it would? have created a very strong current if it doesnt go straight through your hand
By: kyogreowns. on 24 May 12, 02:36:50
You must have misinterpreted my reply; I had no goal of being patronizing towards you, nor did I reply with any sort of ill intent. As I said at the end, I was simply curious [as to the thought process behind your initial remark], and I apologize if there was any fault on my end that I am unaware of. However, would not your? wording of being a bit kinder not also be patronizing as well? Followed up with "I am a hypocrite," it makes for a good bit of humorous irony, if I may point out, lol.
By: Jacob Hively. on 24 May 12, 02:12:38
I am capable of thinking for myself. I do admit it was a generalization, a very broad one indeed. Although, a correction should be in place (why I am justifying myself I don't know) I should have said; "That article is bullshit, don't believe everything you read." Also, I do not appreciate the patronizing attitude. You may? find being a bit kinder will lend you a hand in getting your point across...... I am a hypocrite, but who is not one?
By: seahorsesaddlesore54. on 23 May 12, 22:04:51
Well a? regular guy if i ever heard one ..is that "Joe camel biden "-Bison" ? I-Know ! I-Know ! it's... "Ron Paul" !

Cont; However Young precocious physicist..subscribing to a 'obtuse and pointless ' venture sounds a little reverse ambivalent ? hahaha.. and don't be a pedantic brat to Your poor professor's lol..I'm sure You will succeed ...at being? a physicist, it's up to You..succeed to be a brat too ? again , Your option..post grad ? naw...really ? "Oxford" ? How's ol` Roger Penrose ? or are You the new "Rouse Ball Hall " big guy ? lol..Schrodinger's cat's litter box need's chang'in BOY'A ! enjoy the tenure
By: seahorsesaddlesore54. on 23 May 12, 21:08:07
I RECANT ! BRAVO! You really are ..spot on ..a perspective of my own folly reproofed by the genius of youthful imagination.."Einstein" would be proud as you brought life to the famous quote of His that I don't recall verbatim? ? but the concept is fresh , subsequent to Your revelation... Our Knowledge is finite ; Imagination alone sequestered in consciousness moves about the corporeal universe, and circumventing the 10 teraparsec cosmos unto entropy and back, and yet there's more.

LHC Zombiers are not only Physics--they are politics, too. Look how much does the LHC cost-100000000000 ? thats a political sum. And the Zombiers and the underwriter mafia put back this money!!!!!Look at all this machinations of the underwriter mafia? in the 3.world. Yes and in next time I will show my puppy love( stewardess) her Zombie environment
By: kyogreowns. on 22 May 12, 23:43:31
Perhaps it is "obtuse and pointless," but why is that a bad thing? Introducing such light and jovial questions and topics to uninformed viewers can be a means of informing the general populace, a means of getting them interested in how the world works. Hell, I can attest to its success - Youtube is what got me so interested in becoming? a physicist. Besides, what's the harm in having fun with a theoretical "What if?" scenario? Never know, you could stumble on something important, too.
By: kyogreowns. on 22 May 12, 23:33:31
Question: How do you know Wikipedia is, as you say, bullshit? Have you done extensive study and research into testing its general veracity on appropriately relevant articles (e.g. quantum mechanics, major countries,? Obama, etc. [essentially, not obscure, unknown topics like a town of 32 people in the middle of Africa]), or have you simply heard the phrase "Wikipedia is bullshit" repeatedly? If it's the latter, the same logic applies: don't believe everything you hear. I'm simply curious.
By: seahorsesaddlesore54. on 22 May 12, 01:49:26
The question seems rather obtuse and pointless, shallow and therefor ambivalent in this scenario..I mean what do You think 100 + Billion electron volts in a millimeter wide beam would do ? make a mark maybe ? {REALLY!} The plasma corona around it sounds ominous to observe , or? is it even possible to obtain the visual perspective safely ? certainly would call for some "dark" cheap Sun glasses eh? so how do You get physicist to take out time to answer semi-serious questions anyway ?
By: seahorsesaddlesore54. on 22 May 12, 01:23:21
I think You may have a place? in politics ...Liberal for sure..

Wikipedia is? always true?
By: Verband Filmhistorie. on 21 May 12, 06:28:46
My old flame is stewardess-she gave me the prearranged sign: LHC-Zombies spread out in Waiblingen, Germany?near the Kelley Barracks of the US Army! This Zombies are unbelievable highly insured. The Insurer and underwriter-Mafia insured this? german LHC- Zombies and her Ghostships unbelievable high!!!!
By: toogood75. on 20 May 12, 23:59:49
That beam was nothing like the LHC,? nowhere near as powerful
By: Jacob Hively. on 20 May 12, 22:16:17
wikipedia is? bullshit. Don't believe everything you read.

what the fuck are? you on about
By: MegaSkills9. on 19 May 12, 22:44:04
That's why I didn't respond to his last stupid comment after that one. I don't come here to fight. "devibeatrack" apparently likes to? come here just to insult and argue with everyone else. I don't like people like that.
By: brutsi. on 19 May 12, 22:34:02
I thought a man like you would be too smart to argue on the internet,? and not flash your E-peen.
By: pocoapoco2. on 19 May 12, 20:05:03
I attended some lectures at Fermi Lab some 20 years ago and a very similar question to this came up at one point of a Q and A session. The response was "probably nothing", from the physicist? giving the lecture. Consider that in the experiments done at an accelerator the detection equipment involved in carrying out the experiment is often encased in a hermeticly sealed chamber, and nothing ever happens to the chamber itself or the walls of the building in which the experiment takes place.
By: devibeatrack. on 19 May 12, 19:24:11
...industry. there's no way around taking their kids and holding them responsible for their criminal actions. crap who lives from the goods and work force their ancestors have robbed for centuries from other countries and internal minorities. all their weak points have to be found and will be held responsible.? there's no taboo when it comes to neutralize these objects.
By: devibeatrack. on 19 May 12, 19:23:10
those pseudo scientists...they use circular logic (we do research for the sake of research) and try to divert on pseudo-positive results (western medicine - which is full of crap today). especially those criminals from the university of nottingham who have? tight bonds with the criminal weapon ...
By: Verband Filmhistorie. on 19 May 12, 06:48:54
The Dutch should put this FRANKENSTEIN-FROG to the LHC-Tunnel and shot it down to a ZOMBIER-FROG!!!!!!! I? am searching an insurance company which insures my personality against Zombier-Bites, Vampiere-Assaults and hijacks of Moonwolves!
By: RationalismDefined. on 18 May 12, 05:11:39
I guess it depends on whether or not the magnetic field oscillates. Nothing? like having a current induced in your fillings to brighten up your day.
