I'd never realized just how much The Band's music effected me until I heard about Levon Helm's passing. I didn't expect to cry? and found myself choking back tears all day. These guys were the genuine article. There's not many other bands in their league. Thanks for all the heartfelt music,? guys. Much love.

Awesome guitar work by JRR. Very similar to way he played on King Harvest....lots of muted harmonics and between the lines type stuff. What he's not playing is just as important as what he is. Lots of people rip on Robbie, and he's not a big solo? type guy, but stuff like this should cement his place as one of the great rock and roll guitarists of all time....

This epic song was dumped on a shite album after they'd all but broken up. Had they stuck together, released a real album and toured behind it, this could have been a major statement. The lyrics are sometimes goofy, but resonant. Danko's lead vocal and Levon's drums and backing vocal are perfect (that cymbal sticks in the mind). I'm guessing it was written/recorded for NL-SC, post-Watergate, and cut. Robbie's playing the same guitar with basically the? same amp settings as on NL-SC.

With all due respect: NO you're not the only one, but judging from the 320 views, we're a small bunch. Strange as this is some of the best music ever made. Personally I came to love it when I was a foreign exchange student to the U.S.A. My so-called hostfamily crapped out totally on me and having about 5? months to go, before going home, I took refuge in this album in what I later recognized was the first of many depressions to come in my life. This helped A LOT. Thanks to THE BAND
