The company where I work, one of the? IT guys was trying to organize a union. They fired him. He must have done something with the intercom or something, because as they were escorting himoff the premises suddenly the "Internationale" from? this scene started blaring out of the loudspeakers all over the building and out on the factory floor. The CEO rushed out of his office, screaming for someone to pull the plug. I thought the guy was going to wet his pants he was so agitated.

This? is my favorite movie of all time. Warren Beatty did such a good job. And he was making a huge political statement against Republican Reagan. This movie premiered shortly after Reagan became president. But politics aside it is a great movie with great performances.

The reason why this scene still? strikes me as one of the most thrilling and moving scenes I have ever seen in a film (even after 30 years) is not at all the politics of the October Revolution, but the fact that one has the sense of the excitement of actually being a participant in a major historical event, even as one's own life path and one's own close relationships are being transformed. This is brilliant film making.

This is a great movie,an epic, and will have to see it again, the making of war into a glory state, killing of humans and horses is not what we wont but it? is there the truth is Warren is /was a very smart man,and this movie made Diane into a drama actress..and i love them both.

Leaders don't even need to come into the discussion. The strength of the revolution from a workers' perspective came from the organization of the soviets. The famines resulting from the war and the loss of Ukraine to Germany did more to undermine the soviets in Petrograd? than any authoritarian communists did. It just gave them an opportunity. But one can never overestimate the importance of the civil war on the outcome of the revolution. War transforms society.

that was all sooooo LAST CENTURY. ?
By: thepixieful. on 09 Dec 11, 03:16:03
yes because it was that pivot in history. before Lenin and Trotsky. they had a utopian five minutes and it went to hell and worse with Stalin, but Beatty sure made a good looking picture, also? in light of the Sutton books, John Read was no journalist....wow I have to see this picture again, what is he saying?????
By: thepixieful. on 09 Dec 11, 03:12:49
the movie is about those five minutes. History teacher told us they had a great time for less than ten years then it went to hell worse than it was. Marx could not feed his own family, but he could write well, in short does not work......but Beatty paid somebody to shoot some good? pictures, have to take the film apart now that I have read Sutton.

John Reed is there NOT as a reporter as I was taught but a rabble rouser.? Beatty shows the five minutes that it was great then it went to hell and stalin, sad history.
By: thepixieful. on 09 Dec 11, 03:02:42
yes actor playing him. also Beatty implys that John Reed was NOT a reporter but a? rabble rouser, I came to the site to watch scenes again, I am bright and thought I studied this in college (Marx could not feed his own children for example) and Beatty paints a picture and his points are a bit lost, must see it again.
By: thepixieful. on 09 Dec 11, 03:00:15
that is one great movie, but deep. Warren is from arlington and loves all things politics. I need to watch scenes again on you tube. I am not sure if it is pro or? anti but I think historically accurate....he is saying John Reed was NOT a reporter...but a rabble rouser.....I recall it was a very long film.
By: thepixieful. on 09 Dec 11, 02:57:42
he is not depicted in any of these scenes and that was not even his real? name, read anthony sutton and learn some history, great as a movie however.
By: thepixieful. on 09 Dec 11, 02:56:30
guess what it was a reality, Beatty shows the first five minutes of a great experiment in government, they? killed royals then set up their thing, then it got evil and lots of regular people died under a man named Stalin. it failed, but yeah the music was good and Beatty's film spared no expense. learn some history.
By: thepixieful. on 09 Dec 11, 02:53:19
a very similar scene was in Zhivago.... after reading Anthony Sutton I think he is saying reporter John Reed was a rabble rouser NOT a reporter.....curious. it shows a historic time that? was great for about five minutes. women's rights and freedoms then it got really evil with stalin. Beatty is from Arlington and loves the study of government and the US. so this is a deep movie.
By: thepixieful. on 09 Dec 11, 02:40:24
I have to see this whole movie again now that I have read Anthony Sutton's books. Beatty is from? the east coast and had a point to make here, we learned about John Reed in journalism class, is he a rabble rouser in this scene. was he sent there????

What about the many millions killed by Stalin,? Mao and other Communists, it sounds as if you're an apologist for them, too.....ALL social systems and religions have been corrupted, we need to find, if possible, a way to live in freedom and peace...how we get there is, and has been a problem for thousands of years. Greed is probably the biggest obstacle, though.....let's exchange ideas, not insults nor gunfire, friends

If Wall Street doesn't stop harassing people (especially the middle class) and doesn't adjust its policies about wealth, then this will happen in America. OWS should be? a warning to them, but most of Wall Street is way too spoiled and arrogant to listen.

yeah, because catholics aren't the biggest fascists in the history? of the world
