@3:23 - I love that, you are not excited, you will be shown that being excited is? a desired behaviour and I will show you (god I hate how we condition our children)

Well, the? students are definitely engaged, whether any learning is taking place or not is a completely different question.

I am becoming a teacher. And I am very sceptical unsure of what is being learned. It seems? like emotional and intellectual dependency are the lessons of the day.. ;)

Sure, the students learned a skill for the test, but did they leave with an enduring understanding such as: a process can help solve problems. Which is more meaningful? Did students teach other? other that?

Thirdly, those of you who felt the students were robots or sheep (obviouly not teachers), we don't know? what she used to check for understanding or how she tested them. Science has proven that students who teach each other (peer-tutoring) learn more. So get over you prehistoric assumptions.

First, some of you missed the main part of the title to this video "CLASSROOM MANAGMENT". This video was? meant to show some things you could do the keep the students engaged and learning. Secondly, PEMDAS isn't taught just in fifith grade, it is taught in the sixth grade depending on the state you live in.

Look, this isn't learning this is a learning to follow directions. This is not cool at all. We don't need followers and employees (we have to many of those) we need thinkers creators not robots. If my school were to that I wouldn't do anything but laugh my butt off at the fools who think that they are becoming thinkers and who think that they are learning. I hate this learning. Thinking? needs to be done in these classrooms

This is not not how I would run a math lesson, but I wouldn't be opposed to it, either. Using the gestures is forcing the students to cross the mid-line of their body, and as Whole-Brain/Brain-Based Teaching theories propose, crossing the mid-line is an important strategy in linking learnings in both the left and right brain. Additionally, we have only seen this teacher's input and modeling. We have no idea how she is checking for understanding,? running guided practice, etc...just some thoughts.

Canned, lets see her do subject trainsitoning. Order of operations was? suppose to be learned in 5th grade. So I would think each of these kids should have already learned PEMDAS..

she made a herd of sheep out of her pupils, what? a wonderful strategy! They have learnt nothing from mathematics, but they achieved a proficiency level in obeydience! Critical thinking?or "thinking"?
