I thought that they made new recievers that were semi automatic only, but every other part was USGI making them the highest quality M14 a civillian could buy in the states. IMO for up here the norinco reciever fitted with a match barrel and USGI parts is the best you can get up here, and superior to a springfield.

Since the M1a is semi-automatic it is non-restricted, and legal to hunt with. My question is, are the m14's they are selling? select fire, and thus not possible for me to obtain or semi-auto only, in which case they are legal.
From what I read a ... By: brentnowell. on 16 Apr 12, 03:36:28 From what I read a couple years back when these rifles were extremely popular up here was that there were metallurgy issues as well as quality issues.
I bought two, one of them was perfect, and shot very very straight and was exceptionally accurate. The other shot well but had an incorrectly indexed barrel, so the sight was on an angle... Some users reported of improperly? hardened metal as well... If you have the cash go with a fulton armory!

I know a full ... By: NormanMatchem. on 21 Nov 09, 15:06:00 I know a full disassembly of a 1911 has many small parts, but you don't need a hammer for it. All you need is the parts you take off of the 1911 to take? the other parts off. You could even just use a casing rim as a screw driver to take off the grips. I was just surprised that a pistol that was designed 6 years after the M1911 A1 variant was put into play, could be so difficult to take apart. Russians make amazing firearms, no doubt, but maybe they have room for improvement for pistols :P lol
Yea? I saw those ... By: brentnowell. on 20 Nov 09, 03:30:29 Yea? I saw those videos as well and when the spring popped out it just didn't seem right. I doubt it bends the spring, and I have seen some manuals suggest you disassemble the pistol this way! believe it or not.

I have seen three? tutorials online so far, on the Tokarev, that show and say to remove the slide from the frame before removing the barrel bushing. Bends the shit out of the recoil spring, and seriously makes me wonder what is wrong with people!
You're not dumb, and have good taste in music. I like you. :D
Also, one neat trick I figured out is that you can use the tip of the magazine follower to depress the recoil spring when removing the bushing.
That's because ... By: caspiansm. on 20 Nov 09, 02:40:24 That's because there's a difference between a basic field strip and a full detail strip. The 1911 actually has a whole lot more small parts. You wouldn't normally remove them during basic disassembly for cleaning. What he's showing here is a complete detail stripping. You can easily field? trip a Tokarev with your bare hands. Also, the recoil spring can't fly out the front end like on a 1911. It's permanently staked on the guide rod and can only be removed rearward.

Wow, that looked ... By: NormanMatchem. on 20 Jun 09, 07:13:24 Wow, that looked like it was a pain to do. SO many small parts, and you? have to use a HAMMER? lol Strange, the M1911-A1 seems to be a lot simpler yet it was designed 6 years before the TT33 was. A basic field strip of the 1911 doesn't use any tools, and the pieces are so big you don't have to worry about losing them. It wouldn't be easy to lose them anyways if your careful at all. That spring was frightening tho lol coulda broke your cam easily if you let it fly.
