I think that's just a glitch, but it's been around for a while, and they should be fixing bugs like these before they start adding? new features that nobody wants/cares about.

Because Large States would get mad (thus the Connecticut Compromise). At first that Contradicts what I states earlier when I think States are equal. However, since? CA, TX, and NY have large populations (70 million Combines, almost 1/3 of population) candidates would invest heavily there. I think that everyone votes, and when 1 candidate gets the majority of votes? in 1 state, that state goes to that candidate, and that state counts as a "vote". I know it's similar to the electoral college, but the thing is, is that electors can't vote for somebody else. The fact that they can do that means the President is elected by bureaucrats. The votes states have will not be by a human but by a majority. And each state will have one say. And in a 25/25 situation, Territories can vote.

The terms "democracy" and "republic" aren't mutually exclusive. No one's talking about direct democracy here. Clearly, America uses a form of representative democracy. With a popular vote system, every state would have the proper amount of representation. No, it's not true that candidates would only focus on big cities. If that were true, why don't they already do that? Why don't they already focus on the biggest cities in swing states (Miami, Philadelphia, Cleveland),? and ignore everyone else? The electoral? college was designed so that each state would have some representation, no matter how small. To do away with it and have a mass popular vote would be a catastrophe; what remains of state's rights would vanish overnight as they would no longer control who governs them, and Presidential Candidates would only campaign in large urban concentrations, you know, Chicago, New York, LA, etc. I urge you all to make an informed decision about the electoral college... once you know the facts.
