In tribes, both the infiltrator spinfusor and jackal are alternate weapons, so a new player would get 2 shot by either for a while before being able to get their own using the free-earned tokens. Thus, the balance is not great, the 3 default classes are the best balanced, most the others are a? lot weaker using default weapons.

Well, I'd imagine there will be crowds at launch. However, you can avoid them by picking a lower population server, opting to stay on an overflow shard (if you get placed there), simply going to another starting zone (there will be 5) or just doing? something else (personal story, WvW, PvP, exploration) while the majority of the people spread out a bit (The zones are huge, so there will definitely be places with less people around.)
