Cajóns most similar? to the type we know nowadays were first made by african slaves in Péru/southamerica.
By the way: Most important is only the fact that people know how to make stimulating noise.
EVERY culture has its differing but simmilar drums, woods, art, styles in making skillfully percussive music. If we finally encounter alien planets we can say: it's a HUMAN tradition.
Needless to differentiate it any further.

TK BX G, I loved this cajon. i wanted to play it all day. it had a big sound that was provided by the unique shape that widens at the bottom. but it also had sensitivity and great tone at the top. i could really whack it because the wood was a bit thicker. not thick enough to split your fingers, but enough so you could lay into it.
TK XE 29 i've got this one at home. the wood is really thin. it takes some getting used to. when you do, it provides some really pretty tones that this video doesn't do justice. i should studio record them so you can get a better picture.
i just bought a? ... By: stevesamonkey. on 08 Feb 12, 01:40:44 i just bought a? Tycoon TK-29, ive never played a cajon before, and im playing it in church this weekend. did i purchase a good cajon, or did i buy a lemon? also do you have any tips for a beginner?
TKX RB this acrylic cajon had an unexpected sound. lots of bass with clean separation from the high tones. i love it. it's crazy, but i do. acrylic sounds awesome. the front face is a nice wood of medium thickness.
TKX 29. this is the acrylic i play. it's a beast. great all around cajon. i'm still getting used to the look, but it's growing on me because the instrument sounds so good.
